My goal is to create a piece that feels personal and true to your story. Whether you’re looking for a beloved pet portrait, or a custom artwork inspired by a special memory, I’d be delighted to discuss how I can bring your vision to life.

Dogs

Painting of a brown and white dog lying on a wooden floor, resting its head on a blue cloth.

There is a very special bond between man and his dog which I love to bring to life.

These portraits are about more than just a likeness, they are a tribute to the loyal companions that become such a big part of our families.

Birds

Painting of two small birds with green and blue feathers sitting on a log near water, painted in an impressionistic style.

I’ve always been drawn to the energy and chatter of birds. Painting them on carefully selected archival sanded pastel paper allows me to capture the vibrant textures of their feathers and their unique personalities.

Other Animals

An abstract painting featuring a person with dark hair, holding a gun to their head, painted in vibrant blues, pinks, and dark shades, with the artist's signature 'J. HUMBLE' in the bottom left corner.

Beyond painting dogs and birds, I enjoy exploring the diverse textures and spirits of the wider animal kingdom.

Whether it’s a creature from the wild or a more unique pet, I use the same careful focus to translate their energy onto paper.

The Process

  • "We have always admired Janette’s paintings but didn’t expect such a perfect painting of our Keeva. She has captured her spirit so perfectly – those huge ears and alert, intense eyes are exactly how our sage girl looks. Thanks, Janette, She’s wonderful."

  • "I asked for a portrait of our dog Stix to be a wedding present for my husband. I really didn't know what to expect but I love it! It is perfect! He unwrapped it at the wedding and everyone was amazed at how accurately you captured his personality.Thank you Janette."

  • "This artwork of our dog Mr Whitey Brown is so true -to - life it is remarkable. You have been able to truly capture the essence of this larger - than - life character. Thank you."

  • "We wanted something special for our dad for Christmas and thought of a photo of his much loved dog who had recently died. But my sister said “I think we can do better” so we contacted Janette for a pet portrait. Janette asked us about Wally’s personality and favourite pass times so she could create a more meaningful portrait. This painting has so much depth and has really captured his gentle, loving soul. Dad cried and absolutely loves it."
